Make a day out of visiting art and design museums, historical Athens museums or a special interest museum, all of which are offered in the city of Athens. A good tip for travelers is to save your museum visits for a rainy day, when outdoor activities will not be possible.

Benaki Museum
An art and design museum, the Benaki Museum was founded in 1930 by Antonis Benakis. It was the first private museum in Greece. The Benakis family was prominent in Greece and their collection, among other donations, is displayed in the paternal home of the family. This Athens museum's educational purpose is to study Hellenic culture. Its exhibits range from the Neolithic Age to the 20th century. Museum & Study Centre of the Greek Theatre
